Alex Albon had a mega weekend in Canada. The Thai driver was the class of the midfield this race and pushed the basic Williams into P7 scoring crucial points for the team. After the Brilliant strategy calls in qualifying, Albon started P10. However, as the race progressed, the Ferraris and Checo starting behind him overtook him by not stopping under the safety car. Nevertheless, when everyone else in the midfield DRS train pitted, Albon decided to stay out and finish in his old tires. 

Alex Albon managed to sustain the pressure from the car behind him and kept the faster cars at bay on his 50 laps old hard tires. What a mega result from the Thai driver. As a result, for this super performance, Albon was awarded the Driver of the Day. And boy oh boy, did he deserve it. Post the race, Jenson Button and the Sky Sports team were seen in conversation with Alex Albon.

In a video uploaded by @albonscar on Twitter when the Williams driver is seen in conversation, one of the Sky Sports journalists notices Alex Albon’s girlfriend standing and waiting for his boyfriend. She invites Lily to join in and give Albon a hug. Lily, who was a little shy and hesitant at first, eventually joined in and hugged Albon. The Williams driver then asked her how his performance was at the GP, to which she replied “Good, Congratulations” as the cute couple giggled away.
