However, in a recent interview with French TV broadcaster, Canal+, the British racing icon peeled back the layers of his plans when he does indeed retire from the sport. He offered a glimpse into a life post-Formula 1 that promises to be as thrilling as his illustrious racing career. What are those plans? Contrary to the expectations of a shift to other forms of racing, the 38-year-old Mercedes driver clarified that post-retirement, he won’t be found on professional circuits. Instead, he envisions a future filled with the thrill of parachute jumping and possibly even surfing, things he has always been passionate about.
“I love watching races like Le Mans, it looks incredible. I love Moto, I’ve always loved MotoGP, and I still do, I don’t think I’ll be doing any more competitions, at least not as a professional, It takes too much time, I’ll continue parachute jumping and surfing,“ the 7-time world champion’s comments were quoted by F1Briefings. This will probably come as a surprise to many, as the expectation for retiring drivers often leans towards a transition to other forms of motorsport.
