New season, same old Ferrari. The team had an abysmal outing in Bahrain, especially for Charles Leclerc. The Monegasque retired from the season opener on the 41st lap due to an electrical issue despite starting the race with a new electrical component. This was a regular fixture for Leclerc in the 2022 season as well. Following the race in the desert and his post-race comments, there were doubts about Leclerc’s loyalty toward the Italian team. However, it only took one gesture from the Monegasque to quash those rumors.

Leclerc is in his prime years and is not getting any younger. The driver has incredible quality and is considered world-champion material by many. However, even a world champion needs a car to help them achieve that goal. The current state of the F1-23 is far from it. In fact, everything would need to go right at Ferrari for the team to secure a race win.

Taking control and making himself heard in the team are all signs of a driver’s dedication to winning and the team. The opposite of what was being reported following his comments after Bahrain.

Speaking of, Leclerc, in his own way, showcased his loyalty toward the team with his recent outing in his hometown. A video of Leclerc is going viral on Twitter where he is driving his $500k Ferrari 488 Pista sporting a Ferrari sweater.

Let’s hope the Monegasque does not have to suffer a repeat of 2022, especially after such drastic changes in the team. The loyalty is intact, but for how long is the real question?
