However, a frustrated Carlos Sainz insulted his team after the British GP for the repeated blunders as dans slander the Scuderia for their actions. What are the fans saying?

After pulling off a great strategy in Canada and a good result prior to the post-race penalties in Austria, most of us believed that Ferrari had finally gotten things under control. The Scuderia qualified P4 and P5 for the British GP. The hopes for a podium were very high, especially after the race pace exhibited in Austria. But everyone’s hopes were wrong all along. The Ferrari that messes strategic decisions up is back.

Charles Leclerc’s race was ruined when Ferrari pitted him early in the race on hard tires. Stuck in traffic, Leclerc lost time. Carlos Sainz had it even worse. The Spaniard pitted around the same lap as others above in front of him. However, a safety car meant the many in the front got a cheaper pit stop. Nonetheless, Sainz came on the radio and asked his team what was the best strategy. Ferrari asked Sainz to stay out. He trusted the team and stayed out. 

However, toward the end of the race, Sainz started falling down the grid like a stone and finished P10 after starting P5. The Spaniard was gutted and disappointed. It could be heard in his post-race radio call. Carlos Sainz said Feel like we deserved a bit more than that but anyway. Story of the year.” Had Sainz been on the new tires, he would’ve had something to fight back with.

The “story of the year” part was hurtful to hear. Ferrari’s strategic calls more often than not have been a mess. Hence the Story of the Year remark suits the situation very well. Fans took notice of Sainz’s disappointment and took to social media to bash Ferrari.

Fans took to Twitter after listening to Sainz’s pain-filled message and slandered Ferrari for their regular mess-ups. Many fans advised that Ferrari’s terrible strategic calls have become a habit now and added that they are tired of Ferrari. Some called it the story of years as the horrific calls have been a part of Ferrari for many years now. Let’s see how the fans reacted on Twitter:
