The Monza GP is on the horizon, but we still cannot get over the action-filled Dutch GP. There was just so much happening at Zandvoort that we’re just not able to process it yet. We can only imagine how it must be for the drivers. Lando Norris has now come to defend McLaren’s blunder at the Dutch GP as he regrets his X-rated radio call.

But why is Norris defending McLaren, and what did people say?

The Dutch GP was a nightmare for both the drivers and strategists. While many drivers could capitalize on the sudden condition changes, Norris was not one of them. The Brit kept asking his team for the wet tires, but the team wouldn’t allow him to change.

Norris had enough and radioed his team: “Box, mate. We’re too slow.” To this, the engineer replied, “We are faster than Inters cars.” A raging Norris said “What the… Are you f**king stupid, mate?”

McLaren did make a mistake by keeping Lando Norris out on a wet track. However, the Briton, who in the heat of the moment called his team out, defended his team before the weekend at Monza. If not for the blunder, Norris was looking at a podium finish at the Dutch GP.

During the Thursday press conferences, Norris called himself an idiot to defend his team’s strategy. “When you look at it after, I always make myself look like an idiot, and I get that,” he said.

It was shameful what happened to Norris, despite that he, as a driver, kept on asking for inters. Let’s see what he said right after the Dutch GP.

Norris’ misses out as McLaren makes woeful decisions

Lando Norris started the Dutch GP in P2. The podium looked like a real possibility, with the pace of the car also being strong throughout the weekend. However, McLaren made a wrong call as he thought rain wasn’t going to stay for more than 2-3 minutes.

According to @TheMcLarenZone’s tweet, Lando Norris said, “If I start by looking at the final positions, we got some points, which is a good thing… but not as many as we should have got today. We made some incorrect decisions and on a day like today, that can win or lose you a lot of time.”
