The Sao Paulo Grand Prix made headlines for multiple reasons, but one of them surely stands out. Mercedes boss Toto Wolff’s reaction when Hamilton made a pass on championship leader Max Verstappen is a sight every F1 fan loved and laughed about.
The Briton overtook Verstappen finally on the 59th Lap at Interlagos and Wolff’s staggering reaction was captured by the garage camera aimed at him. Hamilton says he had a good laugh about it and that he loves Toto’s fighting spirit.

The seven-time world champion was asked about the same in a press conference before the Qatar Grand Prix, and he talked about it at length. “There’s a shot I saw of him at the last race and it just made me laugh inside, it was so good,” said Hamilton.
He went on to talk about the atmosphere and zeal these moments are born from. “If Toto cared less and was just chill, I don’t know… that fire and passion is a part of our infrastructure and our ecosystem and it trickles down from him,” he added.
The Briton believes in the stands his boss takes for what he thinks is right. “We’ve grown hugely [close] over these years, as we will continue to do.”
The Austrian’s response to the viral meme
Wolff was asked about his viral angry reaction, and he had the most amusing answer for it. “It was just a friendly hello to the clerk of the course,” said the Austrian jokingly.
Wolff and Hamilton have had tremendous success as a team in the last few seasons. Nevertheless, with just three races left for the season, and 78 points up for grabs, this contest is developing towards a nail-biting finish.

The championship protagonists stand at a 14 point difference and the Qatar weekend has already begun. This is expected to go down to the wire in the Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi.
However, this is not the only contest to look out for; there will be a lot of trembling in the midfield as well. An important one to look out for is the “best of the rest” where Ferrari has the clear edge over McLaren.
