Winning back-to-back champion in F1 now, Max Verstappen is perhaps the best driver on the grid to get advice on going faster. The Dutchman took everyone by surprise with the way he knocked the wind out of his rivals’ sails in 2022. He practically ran away with the championship, giving next to no chance for other drivers even to get a sniff of success. However, when singer/songwriter Chelcee Grimes approached him for tips to go faster, he had daredevil-ish advice to give, something that drivers of his caliber are capable of doing easily.

Red Bull recently picked Chelcee as their new ambassador for the 2023 season. Representing the F1 champion team, she felt the need to go faster as she often gets mocked by her friends for being afraid to drive faster in a car capable of doing quick times. For tips, she approached the RB trio, Daniel Ricciardo, Sergio Perez, and Max. While being a professional racer himself, all he needs is 2 laps to get going, that advice would not work with an amateur.

In the video that Grimes posted on her Instagram, Verstappen said, If you have a fast car and you are a bit scared to go fast, I think what is important is that you go to a track and you do, like, some kind of drifting. So, they teach you how to get the most out of the car, how sideways you can go, and what car actually can do.”

All F1 drivers are passionate about their profession and take it very seriously. However, they do take necessary time offs from racing to freshen themselves up and gather their thoughts. Turns out, the Flying Dutch needs none of that and likes to spend his time racing on a simulator. That is a good thing for him, though, as he revealed how it helped him in actual on-track racing.

Speaking with CarNext in an interview last year, he told, “It keeps me ready, and allows me to better analyze the configuration as well. I am not racing with a Formula 1 car in the simulator, but it is similar to an experience you have with GT cars, so you also adopt a different driving technique. I continue to test myself, especially against these drivers who are very fast.”
