“One of the best decisions I ever took in my life” was bringing Roscoe home, according to Lewis Hamilton. The furry companion of the world champion is not an ordinary pupper but an internet sensation and Hamilton’s baby and best friend. While Roscoe is not young by a long shot, it doesn’t stop the 7-time world champion from parenting him right.

Roscoe is Lewis Hamilton’s bulldog that he adopted back in 2013, and ever since then, he has often been found on Lewis Hamilton’s Instagram and even at the paddocks. However, the bulldog’s attendance is not the same at every race. This is due to many reasons, and during a Tommy Hilfiger interview, the Briton spoke about why Roscoe does not travel with Hamilton while the F1 season is active.

The interview with Tommy Hilfiger prompted Lewis Hamilton to share details about his relationship with Roscoe. Currently, Roscoe is a celebrity almost as big as Hamilton, with over 1 million followers on Instagram. So it’s only fair that the conversation steers that way. After the Chinese Grand Prix, the interviewer asked the record-holding champion if he traveled with Roscoe for all the races.

To this, Lewis Hamilton responded by saying, “It would be selfish of me because, firstly, it’s a long trip. But my friend sends me pictures every day, so I’m checking in, and I always make sure he’s good.”

With this, he instills confidence that he cares about his pet enough to not make him suffer through long flights and mixed-up sleep cycles. Assuring his fans that Roscoe’s caretaker sends frequent updates and pictures, which lets Hamilton do his job in peace.

Upon listening to the reply, the interviewer stated, “Very responsible and loving parent.” And Lewis Hamilton, not missing a chance to claim the compliment, says, “Yeah, I try to be.” Now that we know how the Briton takes care of his pet, let’s dive into the story of how they met.
