“Love Him for This”: Lando Norris Gets Lauded as Courageous Gesture for a Seasoned Female Journalist Wins Hearts on the Internet

It goes without saying, the skyrocketing popularity of F1 is generating a lot of media attention. This is true in the cases of drivers for most of their F1 careers and sometimes the media does not respect personal and professional boundaries. This is exactly why a significant chunk of news covers the personal lives of the F1 drivers. However, there are some journalists who have maintained the sanctity by being true to their journalistic values. Such journalists deserve our utmost respect and the respect of their peers but that is not always the case. This is exactly why during the Austrian GP, Lando Norris had to step in to protect one such journalist and the fans are absolutely loving this gesture.

Mariana Becker, is a Brazilian journalist active since 1995 covering a plethora of sports including F1. During the Austrian GP weekend, talking to Norris, the Brazilian was heckled during her interview with Norris, as seen on Twitter. However, the McLaren man had the perfect response. Let’s look at the entire conversation.

When Becker questioned Norris, “How are you going to prioritize or how is it going to work with you to test everything? Do you think it will be a game-changer or not?” 

Norris instantly replied, “Yeah, good question! You ask the best questions here. Well done!” Another reported in their vicinity commented, “You are one hell of a liar.” 

Norris instantly went to defend himself before realizing the comment was toward Becker. Upon realization, he said, “Who are you?” Followed by a “No, I’m telling the truth” after a wicked smile.

The Brit gave the fans also an opportunity to appreciate him with his response to the heckling journalist and they are absolutely loving him for it.

Norris showcasing his values and his gestures towards the reporter are earning him more respect among the fans. The heckler is a good example of how one should not behave, Luckily, Norris was right there showcasing how one should behave. Props to the Brit!
