After a promising Spanish Grand Prix last weekend, hopes were high for the world champions, Mercedes, heading into Monaco. But they have struggled against a bouncy and bumpy Monaco track surface to get a hold of their car. Lewis Hamilton specifically has complained about the bouncing he is experiencing in the W13 on the streets of Monaco.

After the FP2 session, he stated that this was the bumpiest track he has ever driven on. But his former teammate and rival Nico Rosberg believes that the 7-time world champion has lost his way this weekend. Rosberg stated Russell has got a better grip on the car in Monaco as compared to Hamilton.

Nico Rosberg is skeptical of Lewis Hamilton in Monaco GP this weekend

While being a pundit on Sky Sports this weekend, the former world champion mentioned that his ex-rival will struggle to find his way back and will be more competitive in the upcoming sessions in the principality. With limited running in FP3, it would be a challenge for the 7-time world champion to make significant gains in performance.

“This weekend, Lewis has been having a hard time out there. We know the Mercedes is difficult to drive here, but George has stuck with it and found that flow. He is making incredible progress and is in that fight with Lando for the best of the rest after Ferrari and Red Bull,” said Nico.

“Lewis has just lost his way out there, so it is going to be very tough for him to come back and find that rhythm with only a couple of laps left in FP3. It is a big setback for him,” said the 2016 world champion.
