Logan Sargeant escaped the fatal accident at the FP3 in Zandvoort. But what the American driver may not escape is a mid-season replacement. It looks like Williams has had enough now! With repeated crashes and just 1 point in two seasons, Sargeant has failed to prove his mettle to his team. Despite ultimatums at the beginning of the silly season, Williams couldn’t find a single angle of improvement. And now, they might be finding their lost hope in Liam Lawson and Mick Schumacher.
Both Lawson and Schumacher have been denied a seat for the 2025 season. Their skills behind the steering wheel will now catch rust if not utilized! Given Williams’ horrendous current campaign, an urgent replacement is necessary. Rumors suggest that James Vowles is preparing to snatch away the second seat from Sargeant and give it to either Mick or Liam Lawson. This is the same Lawson, who missed out on impressing the higher-ups of Red Bull.
Instagram user F1 GOSSIP OFFICIAL shared that after Logan’s horrific accident in Zandvoort, reporter Erik Van Haren said, “The team would be thinking about replacing the driver from the Monza GP onwards with Liam Lawson or Mick Schumacher.” This is alarming for the American driver, but a big boon for Lawson. The Kiwi driver could once again show his last year’s impressive performance in Monza. If we were to believe this claim, then both the young drivers would be given a fair chance to grab the seat until Carlos Sainz walks into the Williams garage in 2025.

This could become the perfect ground for Liam Lawson to show Red Bull his worth in the sport. Given Christian Horner’s recent declarations, the youngster faced a major blow to his face. However, now it’s time to redeem and restart. The target right now will be Williams.

Red Bull boss puts a lid on Liam Lawson’s ‘guaranteed’ F1 seat for 2025
Liam must remember that his fight for a seat at Williams would be against Mick Schumacher. The German driver is also desperately waiting to try his hands on an F1 car. Both reserve drivers would have a fair and equal chance to prove themselves, not just to James Vowles, but also to the teams that denied them a seat. Lawson will give his answers to Christian Horner’s denials and Mick to Flavio Briatore and Toto Wolff. Meanwhile, Horner’s recent claims about Liam Lawson’s 2025 future are rather disheartening for the 22-year-old. The Red Bull kingpin said he is yet to decide the team for next season.
“Nothing is fixed. At the moment, we’ve still got a few weeks to make those decisions. We know the situation with Checo and the contract that he has. With Daniel and Liam, there are options within their agreements that we won’t talk about in public until things are concluded.” Christian Horner shared this in an interview. He is not ensuring a seat for Lawson but wishes to ‘talk’ to him regarding his future at Red Bull or VCARB. Rumors still strongly believe Ricciardo could replace Sergio Perez next year and Liam could go to the daughter team. But, will it be justified for the level of talent Lawson brings to the table? This is something, Red Bull needs to ponder.
