Formula 1, as a sport, is full of pomp and show. From the outside, it all looks rosy and fun. However, from inside, it’s the other way around at times to which Lewis Hamilton will agree. Marc Priestly reveals the tough part of being involved with F1 when it comes to family.

In the podcast by PitStop on YouTube, Priestly shares how working in the sport can affect the personal life of a person. Even at times lead to separation, due to an extremely on-road hectic schedule, Lewis Hamilton being one of them.

Talking about this, the 46-year-old mechanic stated,To keep a home life going and stay in the road is a real difficult challenge you know and Formula 1, unfortunately, is littered with divorcees because of that.”

Priestly is a British-born F1 personality. The former McLaren mechanic has over ten years of experience in Formula 1 and has worked with the likes of Lewis Hamilton, Kimi Raikkonen, Fernando Alonso, and many more.

Lewis Hamilton parted ways with Nicole Scherzinger citing a similar issue

Seven-time F1 world champion Lewis Hamilton was dating The Pussycat Dolls star Nicole Scherzinger once upon a time. The duo was doing well until they had to call off their relationship as they were “away for a crazy amount of time.”

Hamilton and Scherzinger broke up in 2015 after dating for eight years. Post their break-up, the Mercedes ace opened up about his side of the story, “It may be slightly different in that we are traveling as much as we are, and you are just away for crazy amounts of time.”

Hamilton further asserted in a report published by The Express, “So that’s probably an additional weight that makes it really, really tough to hold down a good relationship, and if things aren’t quite perfect.”

All in all, as Priestly has already shared, “It is hard for those people that you leave at home. You haven’t got time for a chat because you’re in the middle of stuffs and it’s really hard to balance that,” things can be really tricky when working in F1.
