Looks like Lewis Hamilton has found himself in the middle of a Twitter war as the LH44 army is trying to defend their hero. The Mercedes ace was noticeably absent from this year’s Secret Santa video. Subsequently, fans caused a major uproar on the social media platform about Lewis not participating along with the rest of the F1 grid.

The Secret Santa competition is completely optional and the drivers can choose to participate or not. However, some people called out the 7-time world champion for missing it in the last few years. F1 hosts a Secret Santa event every year. Here, drivers are asked to pull out random names from a hat to determine who they will be shopping for before the final race of the season.

The event allows drivers to demonstrate how well they know their colleagues on the grid. It also allows the pilots to banter and be creative with their gifts.
