When they say Formula 1 is the fastest sport in the world, they mean both on and off track. Things happen extremely fast and sometimes it takes time for the world to cope with it. Just like Lewis Hamilton‘s switch to Ferrari. The news of the Ferrari contract came through an entire year before the switch took place and the world cannot stop talking about it.
Even ex-F1 driver Hans-Joachim Stuck is no stranger to the incident, with him coming forth to share his views on Hamilton in Ferrari. Although a seat at the red stable is something every driver would love to have, Stuck comes forth to discuss the challenges Lewis Hamilton will have to face in the new team.

While in a discussion with Eurosport, as quoted by F1 Maximaal, Stuck said, “Hamilton has a special personality, but I am curious about whether he can adapt to the Ferrari system, where everything is a little different.” He spoke about the new salary and said, “Of course, Hamilton will have been nicely compensated for this step with his salary. He has earned it. But he has to rank up at Ferrari. He’s probably not used to that.” According to Stuck, Hamilton will have to climb up the ranks in Ferrari as the stable has been a host to some of the most legendary drivers in history.
He stated, “Ferrari has always been something special. You can even call it an institution. For Hamilton, this will be a completely new experience.” He discussed the difference in the culture of the team and said, “Ferrari is Italy. The press is completely different. They are after everything, and there are no secrets. This will be a completely new experience for Hamilton.” These changes will be quite different for Hamilton as everything will be new for him, the language, the country, and the team.

While talking about the driver’s skill, Stuck said, “Of course, Hamilton is at a particularly high level, because with a title at Ferrari, he could break Michael Schumacher’s record. That would be great!” He added, “Records are there to be broken. If he wins his eighth title there, that would be a great story. But until then, it’s a long road. And above all, a difficult road.” The shift of teams from the Briton has shocked the Formula 1 world and almost everyone is talking about it.
Other difficulties that Lewis Hamilton will face at Ferrari

Although Lewis Hamilton has switched teams in the past, the cultural gap might start to show with Ferrari. The proud Italian team has been the home for many star racers and at Ferrari, everyone is treated like an equal. However, the language will not be a barrier as much as just a small cultural gap, that Hamilton will need some getting used to.
Another big issue with the move to Ferrari is the fact that Hamilton’s right-hand man, Bono will not be able to assist him. Back in mid-2023, Toto Wolff had Hamilton sign a non-poaching contract that prohibits him from taking team members in the chance that he left the team. Now with Bono not being on his side, it might be difficult for Hamilton to dominate the 2025 season, but only time will tell how that will play out.
