There is no such thing as a self-made man. You will only reach your goals with the help of others. Lewis Hamilton made some questionable comments regarding Mercedes after the Bahrain GP. However, after the recent revelations made by George Russell, Hamilton’s comments have gone back to bite him in the back. What were the revelations made by George?
After the shambolic display at the Bahrain GP, Lewis Hamilton fired shots at his team. Hamilton finished 50 seconds behind the winner, Max Verstappen, who wasn’t even pushing. The Briton mentioned that he told the team there were problems with the car and its concept, yet the team did not listen to him. He then went on to say that it’s about the team not owning accountability for the fact that they were wrong and that they should’ve listened to him.

Prior to the race in Saudi Arabia, Hamilton accepted that his choice of words wasn’t the best. However, his teammate George Russell shed light on the fact that both he and Hamilton were aware of the car’s concept and believed the team was headed in the right direction. He further added that nobody within the team is blaming anyone for the concept’s failure and that they are taking responsibility for it as a team.

According to crash.net, Russell said, “We know a change of concept doesn’t come without risks. We all feel like we’ve got enough knowledge and information to say ‘we weren’t on the right track’ so the targets we set over the winter weren’t the right ones and we need to change lanes as soon as possible. Those decisions have already been made and we’ve already started working towards them as of probably Tuesday last week.”
