Is Lewis Hamilton's fashion career a distraction from his F1 legacy or a brilliant new chapter?

Trust Lewis Hamilton to juggle ten different jobs and he’ll ace at all of them. The British racer has a flourishing Formula 1 career with seven World Championship titles. But being a legendary figure in motorsports is just one of the many aspects of him. Besides being a Mercedes driver, Lewis is also a keen fashion enthusiast. His eclectic selection of paddock outfits is a fan-favorite topic during the race days. In fact, he has also tried his hand at designing clothes with the incredible fashion sense that he has!

Being a top athlete, Lewis Hamilton is no foreigner to the world’s best parties. Only 3 months ago, the 39-year-old appeared on the front page of every newspaper as he attended the Met Gala–arguably the most famous fashion event in the US. And at the Met afterparty, Hamilton brushed shoulders with London-based fashion designer Stella McCartney. Perhaps she influenced Hamilton to think about taking the modeling route at some point in time.

So, Lewis Hamilton decided to become a model for Elle Magazine. He was in Korea right before the Japanese GP in April. And there, he posed for Elle Brasil’s Volume 4. As per the Instagram statement of Elle Brasil, the shoot was an official announcement that Hamilton had joined the new campaign of Rimowa, a German luxury luggage brand. The statement also said, “Our team went to Seoul to photograph Lewis Hamilton, who joins the team of men who are confident and proud to be themselves.”

Lewis Hamilton once revealed how he found his knack in fashion

Lewis Hamilton‘s confident strut in the paddocks would convince you he is actually a model by profession. However, that is far from the truth. Growing up, he was always immersed in racing and he only found his calling for fashion much later. Speaking on his experience with it, Lewis once said, “It’s taken me a long time to get fashionable—and a long time to actually convince the teams to change. I wasn’t able to wear my own things. And then I started going to fashion shows.”
