Angela Cullen reveals the pressure on Lewis Hamilton on quali days
One of the most intense parts of a Grand Prix weekend is the high-paced qualifications. Drives pushing the limits of their car, trying to set the fastest lap around the track. Hence, Cullen is nervous and hopes that Hamilton can extract the most out of the Mercedes that sees him start on pole for Sunday’s race.
She wrote on Instagram, “I love everyday of a race weekend but it’s Saturday .. ‘Quali day’ that the focus really gets turned up. Practice session three is always fast and furious trying to fine tune the car for that fast lap without losing performance for race day.
“Then the debrief directly after the session is intense and long, with numerous discussion on car set up between drivers and engineers that last sometimes up to the minute they get back in the car.”

“I love the atmosphere in the engineering room so focused and always an air of excitement with an underlying intensity to the task at hand, I’m usually just on hand trying not to be too nervous. or overly excited at the same time
I just love Quali day,” she concluded.

Can Lewis find the pace at Spa?
Last season, the Mercedes driver started from pole position and claimed victory after forty-four laps around Spa. Hence, it is no surprise that he will be looking to do the same this time around.
The Knight is well aware of the challenges that he will face this weekend, as title-rival, Max Verstappen will try and bounce back. However, with Cullen by his side during the Grand Prix weekend, he is optimistic and hopes to bag another win for the Silver Arrows.
