The Emilia Romagna Grand Prix was nothing less than a roller coaster. With twists and turns throughout the entire race, Imola witnessed a mighty battle for the podium. Eventually Lewis Hamilton took his place on the No 1 pedestal.
Although Bottas dominated the first half of the race, once Lewis Hamilton usurped his lead, none could stop him. Verstappen has our deepest sympathies as the Dutchman raced his heart out; however, his retirement saw Ricciardo on the podium.
At the post-race press meet, Hamilton shed some light on his experience from the unusual celebration. His expression will surely melt your heart.

“Hahaha! Toe jam! It definitely didn’t taste great. I mean, I don’t really like Champagne as it is, but it definitely tastes worse. But what’s positive is that Daniel’s mum thinks I was a good sport, so I’m grateful for that,” reviewed the Briton.
Nothing better than getting praise from Daniel’s mother. A regular at the tracks, Lewis devoured the toe jam with the praise.

“I think Daniel had said that I’d once said never, that I would never do it. So there’s a lesson—never say never.”

Lewis Hamilton applauds the ‘unsung heroes’
Lewis Hamilton never took his wins for granted. The fans might get used to it, the other teams might get used to it; however, for the Mercedes #44, every win is as special as the first one.
Yesterday, after the race, Hamilton took a moment to thank everyone back at Brackley and Brixworth. Honestly, they deserve all the praise and more. The team works day in and out so that the German constructors find their way to victory every weekend. However, they seldom get acknowledged.
“Something that it the real honour of my life, working for this team and for all these people back at the two factories, Brixworth and Brackley. You know they really are the unsung heroes that are not on TV every weekend.

Mercedes sport a killer instinct and that is what makes them winners. The podiums are the culmination of almost 2000 people striving for success together.
