Lewis Hamilton had an incredible 2020 season. He equaled Michael Schumacher’s record of most world championships, broke the record of most Formula 1 wins, and also beat the Coronavirus towards the end of the season.

After his championship win at Imola, it was announced that Hamilton could receive a ‘Knighthood’. Hamilton stated that it is an incredible honor, and is proud to be a Briton.

Meanwhile, Lewis Hamilton was recently awarded the BBC Sports Personality of the Year Award. This is the second time he won the trophy, as the first one came six years ago.

Hamilton had a message for his fellow nominees and everyone around the world in his acceptance speech.

He said, “I really want to say thank you to everyone who called in and voted for me. I really wasn’t expecting this knowing that there’s just so many great contenders.”

Lewis Hamilton also has a Christmas message for everyone

Hamilton thanked everyone for the award and stated that it is a win for everyone. He also sent Christmas wishes to everyone.

Hamilton said, “I really want to send Merry Christmas to everyone. I know it’s been such an unusual year car but all the frontline workers, all the children around the world please try and stay positive through this difficult time.”

Hamilton contracted the Coronavirus after the first leg of the Bahrain Grand Prix, thus missing the first race of his career. However, he came back for the last race of the season.

“I am sending everyone positivity and again thank you from the bottom of my heart,” Hamilton also added in his message.

Hamilton is widely expected to continue with Mercedes on the grid next year. However, we are waiting for final confirmation on the same.

Hamilton will look to claim his eighth world championship and Mercedes aims to extend its record of Constructors’ Championship titles.
