Lewis Hamilton reveals how COVID-19 affected him physically
The Mercedes driver was involved in an intense battle against Max Verstappen in the 2021 championship. It was a neck-to-neck battle from start to finish, where we occasionally saw the 7 times world champion struggling physically.
He was even struggling to even stand upright on the podium after the taxing Hungarian Grand Prix because of fatigue. It was then that Hamilton revealed he may be suffering from after-effects of COVID. He mentioned that contracting the illness has taken a toll on his body physically.
“I’m ok, had real big dizziness and everything got a bit blurry on the podium. I’ve been fighting all year really with staying healthy after what happened at the end of last year and it’s still, it’s a battle,” said Lewis.
