So naturally, the drivers’ diet can be quite harsh at times. In one such situation, Lewis Hamilton had to welcome the ‘lifestyle of a woman’.

Talking to BT Sport in 2015 about the time when Lewis Hamilton had to lose weight, Susie Wolff, the wife of Mercedes boss Toto Wolff said, “There’s a funny story because when the regulations changed, all the drivers had to go on quite big diets to lose weight and I remember speaking to Lewis [Hamilton] at the start of the year.

And he said ‘ah it’s so tough right now. You can’t believe my life, every day I wake up, I stand on the scales, and every time I eat, I’ve to think what’ I’m eating”

Wolff, emphasizing the factor that women are often focused on their figure, joked, “I said hey, that’s the life of a woman.”

As F1 has changed so much over the years, now the drivers, including Hamilton, are expected to do to keep their shape prolific for their safety as well as performance throughout the season.

Formula 1 drivers generally need to be on top of their game when it comes to fitness. The drivers need to make sure they don’t leave anything unattended that will hamper their lap time during the race. When it comes to fitness, Lewis Hamilton among many others is one of the fittest athletes out there.

The British driver is the epitome of physical health, as he has always kept his diet and training top-notch. While many decide to retire from the sport, Hamilton, who is 37 years old now, wants to go for more.

The former McLaren driver is a plant-based diet follower. On this, as per Men’sHealth, Hamilton once shared, “Three years ago, I decided to follow a plant-based diet. The only thing I regret is not having done it before. I’ve also noticed a marked improvement in my fitness level since I switched, which is motivating”
