Lewis Hamilton is a man of varied interests and achievements. Only last weekend, he finally equaled Michael Schumacher’s long-standing record of 91 career race victories.
With six World Drivers’ Championships in the bag, he is on course for a seventh this season. And of course, his efforts link directly with Mercedes’ intention of winning another Constructors’ title.
Yet, from the start of this season, there has been a lot of speculation regarding his contract. Although he has indicated that he will eventually extend his deal, it is not clear when that will happen.

Lewis Hamilton will eventually get his contract situation sorted
The lockdown amidst the coronavirus pandemic has allowed everyone to reflect on their lives. But, the period has definitely been a very important time of reflection, for a prominent figure like Lewis.
The Mercedes driver has decided that different priorities will take focus going forward. He is keen to make sure that his new, and possibly last, racing contract with Mercedes, factors in all of that.
Hamilton said, “When I eventually get this contract in place, that will be a part of the discussion. I think you’ve probably heard from Toto. He also realises during this time how time is something we can never get back and family is everything.”

The Mercedes driver wants to do a few things differently
Hamilton is undoubtedly at the very top of his game, even now. Mercedes will yet again start as favorites for the 2021 season, which promises to be an exciting one. But, he is keen to ensure that he can give time to everything. Most recently, one of his initiatives included launching his own team named ‘X-44’ in the “Extreme E” competition.
He said,“I think in the past, life was just so fast. You’re bouncing from one race to the next, one event to the next. It was way too fast-paced a life. Even hopefully when this thing passes us, I don’t want to go back to how it was before.”

The next race will now take place at Portimao on October 25. With just about six more races to go. Hamilton is all too close to winning yet another title, as holds a 69 point lead over teammate Valtteri Bottas.
