Recently, between the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix and Australian Grand Prix, the Mercedes driver went to Dubai for skydiving. Amid this, many criticized him as he was putting his life in danger before the coming race. However, this isn’t the first time someone has criticized Hamilton.

In 2018, he was criticized for not focusing on the world championship while battling against Sebastian Vettel. During the crucial Singapore Grand Prix weekend, Hamilton was launching his fashion line in Shanghai and doing some off-track activities in New York. Mercedes team principal Toto Wolff recalled how he shut down his critics on track.

Wolff mentioned that the British driver recharges himself in a different manner compared to other drivers. He mentioned that in Singapore 2018, despite having a busy week in his off-track ventures, Hamilton turned up and delivered a once-in-a-lifetime performance.
The Mercedes driver produced one of the greatest qualifying laps of all time. This was enough for him to cruise home on a Singapore Grand Prix, win the next day and extend his championship lead.
“Since six years, I’ve heard ‘how can you allow Lewis to get off and fly around the world?’ You know what? He did it to his most extreme in the last 10 days. He loved it and he was in Shanghai on the catwalk, he was in New York a couple of days later, he came here, rock and roll, and he blew everyone away.”

“Let’s be non-judgemental and allow everyone to judge how he performed best. And he knows best what is good for him,” said Toto.
It is now time to stop criticizing the seven-time world champion over his off-track activities. He has consistently delivered throughout the years and proved his critics wrong.
