Lewis Hamilton made a return to the sport yesterday at the Mercedes livery launch. The 7-time world champion has been away from the media ever since he lost the world championship in Abu Dhabi last season. The Mercedes driver had taken a 2-month break from social media to recover from his heartbreaking loss.

Hamilton has mentioned frequently that he hates losing; he is competitive in everything that he does and doesn’t like to lose at anything.

Lewis Hamilton reveals his attitude towards losing

Lewis revealed although he hates losing, it fuels him to do better next time and get the best out of him every time.

” I mean, I’m just the same as George as in I do not like losing anything. Honestly, even today during my day I play a chess game with a friend, and he is in London. And I can see myself losing and I’m like ‘I don’t want to lose this thing.’ I don’t think it’s a bad thing, but the losses really feed the spirit and fuel the fire.”

He continues, “I take my last race as a massive loss. Even though in the big scheme of things, it’s minuscule but that’s fed me. I was up on Monday. I was powering through a run and focusing on my stretching and making sure that I can be the best I can be in the next race. From communicating with James and communicating with Bono.

‘”Hey guys, sorry about the last weekend. How can we be better? How can I help you be better,'” he said. “So there are so many positives that can come from it and I guess the hate of losing continues to fuel you,” concluded Hamilton.

The Mercedes driver mentioned he is raring to go for the 2022 season

As reported by BBC, the 7-time world champion mentioned, he was very disappointed with the manner he lost the championship. But he stated like always he’ll learn from that experience and try to get better.

“Through these experiences, you can turn these emotions into power and strength, and that’s what I’m doing. If you think what you saw at the end of last year was my best, wait till you see this year,” said Lewis.

Hopefully, the Mercedes driver can channel his inner disappointment and anger into something positive. Despite losing the 2021 title, it would be foolish to pick anyone other than him as the favorite going into the 2022 season.
