While F1 took a two-week break before heading to the lights of the Singapore GP circuit, Lewis Hamilton set flight to America- where, apart from running around San Francisco, the 7x champ spent his time doing something much more meaningful.

As Lewis Hamilton prepares for the appeal documentary against the backdrop of the 2022 season, he paid a visit to the inmates at Lancaster Prison. The award-winning director Scott Budnick accompanied him on his journey. The director praised his now colleague: “Thank you…for bringing so much inspiration”

Apple confirmed earlier this year that they landed the authorization to build a documentary on the seven-time world champion. The $50 million show might be similar to the popular Netflix docu-series Drive to Survive and Sky’s Duel: Hamilton vs Verstappen.

Although the name of the Hamilton documentary on Apple TV+ is still unknown, it is clear that the British driver is taking time off from the paddock during the break to join the shooting process.

Lewis Hamilton retirement not an option

The year 2022 hasn’t been going the way Lewis Hamilton would’ve wanted. Even though the Mercedes star is far behind in the championship run, he thinks he can have another go at the title in the coming years.

In a report published by F1, Hamilton stated,For years we’ve been going around, up and down, with stories of retirement and stopping. For me, I feel healthier than I’ve ever felt, as I focus a lot on that – I’m feeling fit. I love what I’m doing and I don’t plan on stopping anytime soon.”

As the race in Italy concluded two weeks back, Hamilton has gone out of the championship race. The Mercedes man is now in P6 in the driver’s standings with 168 points. He is 167 points behind leader Max Verstappen of Red Bull Racing.

Despite all the odds, the Briton conveyed he would not leave Mercedes. Hamilton added, “My goal was always to be with Mercedes. I love that we have the long partnership we have…I think there’s a lot of work, a lot to accomplish together, so I want to be a part of that.”

Sounds like the determined 37-year-old is in it for the long run!
