The Spanish GP was full of thrilling moments like the fight between George Russell and the Red Bull duo. But apart from the battle between different teams, it’s always fascinating to see competition between teammates, like we have seen this season with Lewis Hamilton and George Russell.
This weekend, we also go a glimpse of the same at the Red Bull camp after Sergio Perez was asked to give up his lead to Max Verstappen. But both the drivers showcased incredible pace and had a median race pace difference of -0.109 seconds.

Further, George Russell finished third ahead of his teammate Lewis Hamilton. Although the seven-time world champion initially struggled after his collision with Kevin Magnussen, he picked up the pace in the latter half and had a race pace difference of -0.310.

The Ferrari base has one of the best driver lineups. Unfortunately, the Monegasque faced a DNF because of an MGU-H and turbo failure. But while Leclerc was on the grid, he was 0.804 faster than teammate Carlos Sainz.
Other F1 driver duos’ median race pace in the Spanish GP
Despite being sick on the race day, Lando Norris outperformed his Aussie teammate Daniel Ricciardo. The McLaren prodigy had a 0.914 race pace advantage over the Honey Badger. For the French constructors, Alpine F1, Esteban Ocon was 0.354 seconds ahead of two-time world champion teammate Fernando Alonso.

As for the Aston Martin F1 team, the four-time world champion Sebastian Vettel and Lance Stroll had a gap of 0.003 Aside from Leclerc, Guanyu Zhou was the other driver to face a DNF in Spanish GP. But while the Chinese driver was on the grid, he was lagging 1.443 race pace behind his Alfa Romeo teammate Valtteri Bottas, who finished P6.
Meanwhile, for AlphaTauri, the Japanese driver was 0.650 faster than Gasly. Tsunoda finished P10 ahead of Gasly, who finished P13. As for the Willams F1 team, Nicholas Latifi was faster than Alex Albon. The Thai driver was 0.545 behind Latifi.

After crashing into Hamilton earlier in the race, Kevin Magnussen lost his positions and most of the pace. K-Mag was 0.232 slower than his Haas teammate Mick Schumacher. Undoubtedly, the Spanish GP had some great battles. Now let’s look forward to more of such battles at the Monaco GP this week.
