It is important to have a good bond and clear communication with your team in order to compete hard and succeed. Lewis Hamilton and Toto Wolff are prime examples of that. The duo has won 8 constructor titles and 6 drivers’ world championships together. Moreover, it was no surprise that the Mercedes driver came to his team principal’s defense after Christian Horner criticized the Austrian.

The Mercedes boss has elevated the quality of the Mercedes personnel, which is one of the key factors for their unprecedented success.

However, Christian Horner does not share the same feeling. He claimed that Toto leads an example of bad management and further alleged that the Mercedes boss was leading the team by “fear”. However, Lewis Hamilton came to Wolff’s rescue as he defended his boss from Horner’s accusation.

Lewis said“We’ve got a great leader.” He further added, “Toto is very focused as a leader to really elevate people. I don’t know any other leader, that I’ve worked with at least, that goes and says ‘hey, how are things at home?”

“How can I support you better so you have more time with your wife, or your husband, or your partner, or your kids, so you come to work happier and want to commit more’. That’s who Toto is. Because of that, there’s a real, general hunger within the team.”

Toto is undoubtedly one of the most successful and respected personalities in the F1 paddock. Mercedes have won 111 races and further secured 246 podium finishes with the 50-year-old at the helm.

Mercedes boss Toto Wolff defends Lewis Hamilton amid recent outburst

Recently, Toto Wolff also defended his ace driver despite recent outbursts on the radio by the 7-time champion. He explains Lewis Hamilton’s “big heart” and how it differentiates him from other drivers on the grid.

in an interview with Channel 4, Toto said, “You can see that on many occasions. Sometimes the lion comes out and you hear these angry messages but that is completely normal for a racing driver and he is the one that, after hearing that, he is apologetic because he has a big heart.

The Austrian also explained how the two of them have grown together. Furthermore, he states how their relationship is transparent and how frequently they discuss the future.
