Reaching the epitome of success is just one thing, but prolonging the dominance manifests the true ability of a champion driver. Lewis Hamilton is a 7 times world champion and arguably one of the best the sport has ever seen. Time and again, we have witnessed some heated arguments of Hamilton with rival drivers. Recently, the Briton revealed one of the ‘deep’ conversations with arch-rival Max Verstappen.

Hamilton started his racing career at a very young age. Growing up, he fought many battles with rival drivers. One such battle started back in 2021 when Hamilton faced one of the most ‘aggressive’ rivals, Max Verstappen. The rivalry between Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton will surely go down as one of the deadliest ones. After the race at Austin, the Mercedes boys seemed quick and as a result, both the rival drivers came face to face at the Brazilian GP.

Max Verstappen showed his aggressiveness once again, and both drivers collided at the Interlagos circuit. When asked, “if Max is aggressive towards him because he’s the most successful driver.” The Briton replied, “There’s definitely nothing deeper in the background.” Hamilton revealed that the issue of ‘Black Lives Matter has only made him have a deep chat with the Dutchman.

The Briton was seen leading to global protests, after George Floyd sadly died back in May 2020. Hamilton used his platform to make the moment viral. “The only deep convo we’ve had is in 2020, in Austria, when I went to speak to him about BLM & how much it would mean if he supported that.”

The younger generation targets the most successful drivers on the grid. In order to outshine them, Hamilton suggested this might be a reason why the Dutchman is more aggressive towards him.

Lewis Hamilton knows why Max Verstappen treats him differently

Lewis Hamilton might know what causes the adrenaline rush to the Red Bull driver when he is up against the seven times champion. The Mercedes star insisted he can decode the reason why Verstappen drives aggressively as Hamilton himself targeted Fernando Alonso, due to the number of titles the Spaniard owned.

Now Hamilton says that he can relate to the way the double champion has treated him differently throughout these years, as he himself was the same when he came into the world of Formula 1.

The Briton said, “I remember when I first got to the sport and your target is the guy that has the most championships. It was Fernando (Alonso), then it was Kimi (Raikkonen), because Kimi was one of the best drivers here, and then it was Seb (Vettel), so I think it’s natural.”

The pair has given many amazing moments on and off the track. With the memories of last year still fresh, the arch-rivals will once again come on the Yas Marina Circuit. It will be really interesting to see if Hamilton can take revenge for last year’s heart-wrenching defeat or if it’ll be Verstappen to win the Abu Dhabi race from a far margin.
