Lewis Hamilton is claiming podiums more often than ever. Thus, the Formula 1 community has raised complaints of a predictable season. There were seasons where the championship fight was between multiple drivers. The championship fight would go all the way to the last lap of the season.
This season was nowhere close to delivering such a competition. Hamilton and Mercedes won their seventh championship this season, with multiple races remaining. Hamilton is out of contract at the end of this season.
He stemmed massive conversation after his comment at the end of Emilia Romagna GP. He hinted at a possible retirement at the end of this season. However, he set the rumors to rest at the end of the Turkish Grand Prix, where he stated he still feels young.

Meanwhile, Mercedes and Hamilton still have to conclude a new contract to move further. The contract negotiations are reported to start after the season ends. However, Hamilton has clarified that he does not want to travel a lot.
“This year’s shown that, for example, you can work from home,” he told the BBC. “So I’m sure there’ll be a lot of Zoom dates in the contract rather than actual present days which means I have to fly less.”

Hamilton has clarified that maximizing time for himself will be a key part of the negotiations. “Time with friends and family are the most important,” he said.
He further added, “If we get to start travelling more [I want to] take my family somewhere and create memories with them and celebrate with them just being around. This year I’ve not been able to see them and that’s just been the hardest.”
At the end of the Turkish GP, Hamilton explained that he has a bigger purpose at Formula 1. According to the reports, Hamilton is also working towards promoting diversity through the field of motorsports.

He has been working towards equality in the sport. He explained, “I want to find out what the real problem is first so we can fix it efficiently. I’m working with the Royal Academy of Engineering in London, we’ve got this incredible commission.”
It is widely believed that Hamilton will join Mercedes for another term. The next seasons’ fate appears to be similar. However, things could change in 2022 as the new financial regulation era shakes up the grid.
