However, reportedly the Briton has committed a financial blunder despite Ferrari’s $48,000,000 offer, receiving a bizarre response from Toto Wolff. and Co. What is this financial blunder?

Just like Toto Wolff suggested, rumors of Lewis Hamilton joining Ferrari or any other team always come up when his contract extension is due. Hamilton and the $48,000,000 Ferrari deal rumors have been in and around the paddock for well over a month now. As Mercedes’ struggles continued, the speculation grew stronger. Nevertheless, Toto Wolff recently suggested that things are almost there with the Austrian dreading to talk to Hamilton about the money aspect.

Well, looks like it has been finalized. A tweet uploaded by @F1_Ninja suggests that Lewis Hamilton has signed a contract extension with Mercedes, meaning the 7X World Champion will continue his goal of the 8th title with the Silver Arrows only. However, it was also reported that Hamilton will take a pay cut in his new contract. Did Lewis Hamilton miss out on a financial opportunity by taking the pay cut? The tweet suggests that the official announcement is on the way.

Looks like all the rumors of Lewis Hamilton going for the extra money and tempting $48 million offer were not true. We await the confirmation but if it happens, things look solid for the Briton with Mercedes on an upward slope.

Mercedes made significant improvements with the new upgrade package.

Mercedes brought the new package to Monaco, which was supposed to change the director’s development and be a new start for the team after a dismal start to 2023. While Toto Wolff suggested that the new upgrades will not be a silver bullet, we did see glimpses of a Mercedes rocketship in Spain where the Silver Arrows finished P2 and P3. Still off the Red Bull’s pace, but not very far off.

The biggest thing was Lewis Hamilton being happy with how the car handles and feels. This very well could’ve played a part in the contract negotiations as the Briton wants a car he feels connected to. Let’s wait for the official announcement of Hamilton continuing his legacy with Mercedes.
