Lewis Hamilton returns to Austin with a lot of excellent memories associated with the place. Not only is Austin a strong track for the Brit, where he won his sixth championship title, but also has had a lot of fun off the track. The US Grand Prix weekend brings with it a lot of fun, activities, and even Hollywood’s finest. Looking back at his time at the circuit, Hamilton posted a throwback picture, hoping for more to come.
Preceding the weekend ahead of him, Austin brought back memories of his time before. Whether it was driving around with Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown, or celebrating on the podium with Usain Bolt. Lewis Hamilton took to Instagram to reminisce about the times that hold a “special place” in his heart.

Looking back at the past with Lewis Hamilton
In 2018, Hamilton and fellow Brit kicked off their friendship in a special way. The champion and the actress did donuts in a stunning yellow Mercedes car at the COTA. The pair also took multiple selfies on the pit lane with the car, to memorialize what was an awesome day for the two.

However, it wasn’t the first time Hamilton scared people in the car into becoming friends. Although his other buddy isn’t unfamiliar with speed. Another feature on the Brit’s post was Usain Bolt himself! Hamilton took the athlete for a speedy lap around COTA as well.

Further, the list of popular friends doesn’t stop there. After finishing in P2 in 2019, the newly crowned champion brought along Matthew McConaughey to the podium to celebrate with him. All right All right All right!
The Hollywood icon later shared his thoughts on the British driver. “He’s 34 years young, six-time world champion. If you’re a world champion once in life, that’s an incredible feat … Six times in 34, that’s an exceptional feat. I love seeing greatness, and he is.”

Greatness hasn’t changed for Hamilton since the last time he drove around COTA. The only difference this time around is his rival. Max Verstappen may hold the six-point lead at the moment, but with Mercedes’ newfound pace, will the Red Bull keep up?
