The 7-time world champion would hope that getting so much positive energy from the country would also translate on the track.

Can Lewis Hamilton score some points at the Australian GP?

Lewis Hamilton and Mercedes have been struggling in the 2022 season against their rivals on the track. Although he did score a podium at the season opener in Bahrain, it can be said due to luck as both Red Bulls ahead of him retired.

But former F1 engineer Rob Smedley mentioned that the German team can still bounce back this season. He stated that the 2022 season would be a development war as there is a lot of performance that can be extracted from the cars.

“I would expect that to change now more than any other year as people find big chunks of performance in lots of different areas. The development phase of the car is at such an immature stage that the cars will change significantly from the first race to the final race. There’s going to be a very, very strong development curve on those cars,” said Smedley.
