Kingmaker Anthony Hamilton. Even though there are no two ways about Lewis Hamilton‘s talent and hard work, his father played a massive role in bringing him here. However, the father-son-duo faced a rough patch when Lewis decided to part ways with him and fire the father who had played manager for his whole life. While the relationship grew distant for a spell, there was another instance when the prodigal son denied his father’s pearls of wisdom. However, this time it probably was to write history.
Lewis Hamilton made the most unusual call when he decided to pack his bags and shift base from McLaren to go to Mercedes. The latter was a team that had still not made any mark in the sport and everyone around him, including his father, discouraged his move. Lewis said, “I remember that first race. I remember the decision I took to join this team. I didn’t let anybody influence the decision that I took I wanted to make it wholly with you know just from my own judgment and you know just no influence just really I know people there were people that told me that I should have stayed at McLaren. My dad said stay. Loads of people said stay but something inside me told me that this was what was right for me.”

The 38-year-old said, “Valtteri’s been he was just such a great teammate and colleague. And when I talk about teammates, I think, I don’t know if people really think about it, but. There’s like a conflict of interest here in our sport. It’s always a very, very delicate path to walk down and it’s very, very difficult to. It’s very easy to be on the wrong side and fall out or whatever. Valtteri and I never fell out. We always just spoke on things we he was very much just like I’ve gotta he’s gotta do a better job or I’ve gotta do a better job.”
