Given how much he loves action-packed Hollywood movies, it did not come as a surprise when Lewis Hamilton revealed that he was producing a film of his own based on F1. Having the ambition to make a movie is one thing, convincing an A-list star to act in it is another battle of its own. The F1 sensation had that covered as well as he managed to rope in Brad Pitt to play the main role in his $140 million project. This movie, however, is just an extension of Lewis’ dream that never came true. The opportunity he missed out on once, if it presented itself now, he will give up everything to grab onto it.

As a child, the original Top Gun movie left an indelible mark on Lewis’ heart. He was so impressed by it that he wanted to become a fighter pilot one day. Once he got to know that Tom Cruise was making a sequel to the 1986 film, he begged him to give him a role, any role. He was even ready to play a janitor if that was what would get him there. Tom did agree to get him a role but not as a janitor but as a fighter pilot alongside him. However, owing to the prior commitments to the F1 calendar, the Briton had to back out of it.

That’s in the past, though. If the opportunity presented itself now, according to the man himself, he would not let it go. In the recently released season 5 of Netflix’s docuseries Drive to Survive, he said, if they’re ever doing a Top Gun again, there’s no way I’m turning that down.”

I’m gonna have to have someone replace me in the car if I have to.”

Given how long it took Tom to make the sequel to the original movie, it is highly unlikely that the third part will arrive any time soon. Until then, the 7x champion will have to make do with his own Hollywood passion project.

Lewis Hamilton looking for a co-star for Brad Pitt

Hamilton may have missed out on a role on Maverick, but he got its director, Joseph Kosinski, to work on his project. However, they have hit a roadblock. The team hasn’t set its eye on an actor who will co-star the Fight Club famed star.

Giving an update on the production of the movie in a recent interview, Autosport quoted him as saying, “We’re going through a process right now of selecting the character that will be alongside Brad, which is exciting.”

“Basically that’s the process of watching [the auditions]. We have recordings of them doing certain scenes and we got through it,” he added. “I’ve have sat in the office with Jerry and Joe [Kosinski] and Brad, and we’ve been watching them and kind of given our inputs and what we think.”
