We look back at a time when Fernando Alonso was in the midst of shifting his seat in the F1 world. Back in the year 2018, Alonso, who was driving for McLaren for the second time, was contemplating his next move. Plenty of F1 fans suggested a reunion of the Spaniard with his prior teamed, Lewis Hamilton, at Mercedes. However, the Briton-Brazilian shot down the suggestions.

Hamilton and Alonso were teammates in Mclaren, back in the years. The teammates grew mutual respect for each other as time passed by.

In an old interview with Sky Sports, when asked if there was a possibility of Fernando Alonso finding his way to Mercedes to reunite with his old teammate? Lewis Hamilton was quick to shoot down the idea. He said, “It’s not going to happen.”

Further adding on to the value that Valtteri Bottas brings to the team, Hamilton said, “Valtteri is fantastic here at the team. He was very, very fast at the last race.”

“He has obviously got a lot of potential and a lot of growth to go, but it is all about finding the right balance in the team. So far, Valtteri and I have a great balance and the scales weigh up nicely. If you have got two kilos on either side, and then take the two kilos off and put four on, what is the point? You need the balance.”

In other news, the Briton-Brazilian is keen on racing for years to come, whilst his family weighs in on the matter as well.

Lewis Hamilton claims that the tiring F1 life leads him to pass out on his sister’s couch

The Silver Arrows star, Lewis Hamilton, shared his plan forward in the F1 world for the next few years to come. As the Briton-Brazilian has mentioned time and again his love for speed and racing, he believes he still has a lot left in him. He has plenty to give to the sport and is not ready to quit just yet.

The seven time world champion is looking to extend his contract with the home team beyond the next year, which would mean that we would be fortunate enough to watch the F1 star drive into his 40s, much like his former teammate, Fernando Alonso.

Hamilton has always voiced his undying love for the Silver Arrows and wishes to continue racing for none other than the home team.

He said, “It’s going to be hard one day, stopping racing. I’ve done it for 30 years and it will be 30-plus years when I do eventually stop.”

“Luckily for me, right this second, it’s not now. My dad and my brother, they’re like, ‘Yeah, keep racing forever,’ because they are racers. For my mum and my sister? I can definitely sense they want me to do whatever I want to do.”

“They can also see how tiring it is, that it weighs heavy on you. Sometimes when I go around to my sister’s house, I just pass out on the couch!”

He concluded, saying, “At some stage, I will want to have a family and that will be my full focus, but right now, being in Formula 1 with Mercedes is it.”
