Sports persons and celebs these days are often spotted with tattoos, and Lewis Hamilton is no exception. As the Mercedes driver won race after race, the tattoo count on his body increased. However, Hamilton doesn’t get tattoos for no reason, as he has specific reasons to have them.

In a 2018 interview with GQ Magazine, the Silver Arrows driver opened up on the tattoos on his body. Among them was a tattoo that he got to pay a tribute to his aunty. During the interview, Hamilton conveyed, “I also have a big rose on my right rib, which is from my aunty.”

She passed away five years ago from cancer. It’s not finished yet, still got to engrave it with her name,” stated the seven-time world champion in the interview uploaded on the official YouTube channel of GQ Magazine.

The Mercedes man got exposed to the world of tattoos after one of his sisters got married to a tattoo artist. Apart from the tattoo for his aunty, the former McLaren driver also has tattoos on his body for his father, friends and more.

My sister is engaged to or ended up marrying a guy who’s a tattoo artist. So I grew up from a really young age. I’m around 10 years old, viewing individuals getting tattooed,” further asserted the 37-year-old British international.

Talking about some other tattoos, that Hamilton got, he stated, “I’ve got a big cross on my back… I’ve got a guardian angel here [on his arms] for the Sacred Heart of Jesus, and I’ve got an image of Michelangelo’s sculpture of Mary Jesus from when she came up the cross.”
