Lewis Hamilton Vs Max Verstappen: a debate for the ages. Each individual has a different opinion on the topic and we often come across fresh takes on the matter. Today, we are talking about a fresh take from Sky Sports F1 British broadcaster David Croft. The British commentator is one of the oldest and most reputed commentators of the sport. However, every commentator lives with a curse, which is they can’t please everyone at all times. “I don’t tweet about this because 140 characters just don’t cover it. But I get accused by Max fans of favoring Lewis and I get accused by Lewis fans of favoring Max,” he revealed on the PitStop podcast.
He then continued to make his stance, “What I would say about Abu Dhabi is that it wasn’t right, mistakes happened, as were pointed out in the FIA report. But the referee does make mistakes. — The referee is entitled to make a mistake because they’re human. We don’t like it as sporting fans but I don’t think it was manipulated in a way that the FIA decided that Max had to win the championship.”
Crofty drew parallels from soccer to compare the two situations. He also agreed with FIA’s decision to cut a direct line of communication between the team and the race officials.

The entire 2021 season, especially at the end, was arguably the most thrilling championship in almost a decade. There’s a reason the final race is still being discussed. However, the British commentator feels it’s time we move on!
He said, “My theory is always, mistakes happen. We don’t like it, but we have to accept it. What I find really difficult with Abu Dhabi at the moment is a reluctance to accept what’s happened has happened and now it’s time to move on!”
