Lewis Hamilton has made his much anticipated come back in front of the media. The 7-time world champion has been away from the limelight after losing the world championship to Max Verstappen in Abu Dhabi last year.

Although there were various speculations regarding the Mercedes driver not returning to the sport, on his return, Lewis mentioned he had no plans to stop racing. He even revealed why he went on a 2-month long absence from the media and the limelight after losing the championship.

I absolutely didn’t watch the race [back]: Lewis Hamilton

As reported by Sky Sports, Hamilton mentioned he believes his best is yet to come in Formula One. He also revealed that he didn’t watch back the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix in his offseason. It must have been really painful to lose a championship in that manner, as he is still not quite comfortable talking about it.

“If you think what you saw at the end of last year was my best, wait until you see this year. I absolutely didn’t watch the race [back]. It was something that I was very clear in mind, the experience. And of course, it replayed in my mind quite a lot in the coming weeks after the race,” said Lewis.

“I don’t remember what I said to Max. It’s all a bit of a blur. I’ve not revisited it. I don’t particularly want to look backwards, I want to go forwards,” Lewis added.

Well, it is nice to see that Hamilton decided to stay and compete in F1. Everyone will pay close attention to how he reacts on track in the first race of the 2022 season in Bahrain. It is still unclear whether he’ll have a competitive car with Mercedes just like the previous seasons or not. But one thing is for sure, Lewis will give everything that he has to win his record-breaking eighth world championship.
