Lewis Hamilton came to the Austrian GP with the hope of securing another podium and carrying the strong momentum from the last two races. However, he has struggled in both the qualifying and the sprint race this week. After he crashed into the barriers on Friday, his W13 was damaged once again during Saturday’s 100 km race.

Pierre Gasly collided with him in lap 1 and as a result, he dropped 3 places. To add to his woes, he was stuck behind Mick Schumacher and the Haas DRS train, but eventually gathered a point in the end. Despite tough times, his motivation remains strong as he stayed in the paddock until 11 pm on Saturday.

He posted a picture of a lonely paddock in the dark skies on his Instagram handle. He captioned it, “No matter how much they want it, I want it more.” This inspired the fans on Twitter, who believe the tides will turn in Spielberg for the seven-time world champion.

Notably, the Red Bull Ring is not a happy hunting ground for the Mercedes man. He has been victorious only once back in 2016 and has not stood on the podium since then. And his struggles may well continue as he starts P8 for the main race. At the same time, Hamilton’s words of inspiration have only made the fans encourage and shower their love towards him.
