The first three rounds of Formula 1’s 2022 season witnessed some great battles and nail-biting finishes. The recently concluded Australian Grand Prix saw Charles Leclerc take the honors once again. Ferrari now sits at the top of the charts ahead of the race in Imola on April 24th. But amid the Formula 1 action, the tension between Russia and Ukraine is still ongoing.


The F1 world knows Lewis Hamilton for the social works and charity he takes part in. The seven-time world champion has set up multiple foundations for those in need and has raised awareness among Formula 1 fans on several occasions. And now he is once again raising awareness on social media for families suffering in Ukraine.

On his Instagram story, Hamilton mentions certain foundations and charities that offer support to the families that are suffering in Ukraine and around the world. The Brit also applauded the strength shown by the people during this difficult time.

 

The story read, “I’m praying for the people of Ukraine, the strength they have shown during this time is incredible. We need to be supporting them and lifting them up. Families are being displaced, separated and killed. Ukrainian people, especially women and children, are experiencing violence and need our help.”

Lewis Hamilton is content with the outcome in Australia

On the track, Mercedes has been struggling this season. With the changes in regulations ahead of the new season, the car has suffered from porpoising issues and could not match the pace of Red Bull and Ferrari. However, they are sitting second in the Constructors’ Championship despite the pace deficit.

George Russell secured his first podium at Mercedes in Australia while Hamilton finished behind him to gather valuable points for the team. They have certainly capitalized on Red Bull’s misfortunes as the seven-time world champion revealed his satisfaction after the race.

He said, “It’s an amazing result for us as a team. Whilst we haven’t necessarily improved the car in these three races, I think we’ve extracted the most we could have points wise. To come away with this result is great.”

Hamilton came into the season with an aim to achieve his 8th World Championship. However, he is currently 5th in the standings and 43 points behind Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc. His dream of achieving an unprecedented 8th title this season is slipping away, but he will believe Mercedes’ upgrades in the upcoming races will boost his chances.
