Sometimes your circle decreases in size but increases in value. After the recent split between Lewis and his performance coach Angela Cullen, facts about his social life have surfaced. A former F1 Team owner suggested Hamilton is somewhat of a “loner“. But what exactly is it that makes Lewis a loner?
Angela Cullen joined Mercedes back in 2016 and was Lewis Hamilton’s physiotherapist for 7 years up until she decided to move this year. Lewis mentioned that Angela is in a different phase of life and wanted something else from her life. The partition was mutual, and both parties posted lengthy tributes for each other on social media. They are on good terms, as Lewis suggested they still text every day.
Angela wasn’t only Briton’s coach but is also believed to be a very close friend of his. Lewis spent most of his race weekend with Cullen. Eddie Jordan explained how Lewis is a bit of a loner. He’s only close to very few people and minds his own business. Now that Angela is gone, Lewis doesn’t have that support anymore.

According to express.co.uk, Eddie Jordan said “I thought they were joined at the hip. She was so close to him, in terms of being with him and by his side. Lewis is a little bit of a loner, and I mean that in the nicest possible way. He doesn’t have an entourage around him or big groups. Generally, he minds his own business.”

The split with Angela is definitely going to take a toll on the Brit. He’s always been emphatic about how Cullen had been so good at keeping his mind in the right place. Amongst the underperforming car struggles, Lewis now has the challenge of getting used to Angela not being around.

We’ve already seen Lewis finishing behind Russell at the Saudi Arabian GP. The absence of someone whom you’re used to spending the whole race weekend with and preparing for is not easy. Nico Rosberg suggests that Cullen leaving would make things worse for Hamilton.
According to mirror.co.uk, Nico Rosberg told skysportsf1 ” I think that probably makes things even worse because even though the split apparently was amicable, you know, Angela was a real friend I think also to him,” Hamilton is going through a hard time not winning any races in over a year. Whether Cullen leaving actually worsens, it is yet to be seen.
