Lewis Hamilton is finally back in the podium places and back to enjoying his time on the track. The Briton has consistently ended up on the podium in his last five races. However, the top step still eludes the serial race winner as Hamilton’s hunt for a race win continues. Considering the qualifying result, a P2 finish for Hamilton at Hungarian Grand Prix was indeed rewarding.
Max Verstappen was also in the same boat as he got his race win from P10 on the Hungaroring. It took some time, but the two world champions, similar to the 2021 season, are spending time on the podiums together. With little to no animosity between Hamilton and Verstappen, the pair, including Russell, shared a few laughs.

The laughs were at the expense of Ferrari, their strategy to be specific. Ferrari’s lousy strategy cost its drivers Leclerc and Sainz yet another potential race win and significant points.
Questioning the flawed strategy, Hamilton, in the cooldown room, asked, “They (Ferrari) were on the hards?”
To this question, both Verstappen and Russell, one after the other, with a huge grin, replied, “Yeah!”
Ferrari’s strategy has become their biggest enemy in recent weeks, as the Italian outfit let their drivers down once again. A P2 and P3 from the starting grid for Sainz and Leclerc respectively translated to P4 and P6 after the chequered flag dropped.

The constant strategic errors are diminishing Ferrari’s championship chances. Heading into the summer break, it’s abundantly clear Red Bull is running away with both championships. If this continues, Ferrari might end up third behind Mercedes in the constructors.
Lewis Hamilton asking the question, but who is answerable?
Divers like Hamilton finished the Hungarian GP with two pit stops. In the same race, Ferrari pitted their championship contender, Leclerc, three times and also put him on hard tires for the last stint. The calls from the pit wall are causing Ferrari’s downfall despite having, arguably, the fastest car on the grid.

And after taking the heat for the French GP, Leclerc did not hold back in the post-race interview after the Hungarian GP.
“We need to speak with the team and understand the thought behind putting the hard tyre on because I felt very strong with the medium. Everything was under control and for some reason, I don’t know why, we went on the hards,” said Leclerc.
