The governing body of Formula One has re-enforced a few pre-existing regulations this season, including a ban on jewelry and a mandate on fireproof underwear during races. However, many drivers didn’t like this, including the seven-time world champion.
Lewis Hamilton might be banned from British GP
Hamilton rejected the jewelry ban since its introduction. The Mercedes driver even wore many watches and jewelry during the press conference in Miami as a sign of revolt against the regulation.
However, FIA later had a meeting with Hamilton and allowed him to race wearing only his nose stud. Hamilton would need to undergo the knife to remove his nose stud. So, the governing F1 body gave Hamilton a grace period until Monaco GP to remove his nose stud.
But FIA later revised the grace period, and the new end date is June 30. Now, the British GP is on July 3. So, Hamilton appearing with jewelry at his home race might force FIA to ban him from racing at Silverstone Circuit.

The English driver is the most successful in British GP history. He has won the race for the most time, eight to be precise. Further, he never missed the home race in his 16-year-long career. So, Hamilton can miss the home race for the first time if he does not follow the jewelry ban.
Hamilton needs confidence in his car
Besides the whole jewelry debacle, Hamilton is struggling to perform in the latest W13. Lewis has only bagged one podium over the seven races this season. Meanwhile, his new teammate George Russell has shown better performance in the problematic car, scoring two podiums.

Philipp Brändle, the former Mercedes aerodynamicist, has spent much time with Hamilton. Hamilton understands what he wants from his car but doesn’t have the technical knowledge as much as Michael Schumacher.
Brändle reported, “Lewis needs to have confidence in the car, which is very important to him. He’s not like [Michael] Schumacher and doesn’t have the technical background. But he can feel the car particularly well.”
