Lewis Hamilton has always lived a life spread all over different dimensions. Other than winning a record seven titles, he is also known for his strong voice off the track. He has helped bring in measures for diversity and inclusivity through various programs. He has voiced support for W Series racing, which arguably led to the creation of a new female f1 academy. He backed Black Lives Matter, and multiple other social causes, for which he has received immense support. But there’s one thing that he has improved in the sport, possibly without even knowing it.
This change that we’re talking about is the change in the status of women, or more specifically female models, in and around the paddock, and how Lewis Hamilton should be credited for it because it came about only after he started dating Nicole Scherzinger.
F1 blogger, VF Castro, pointed it out in the VF Castro & Vincenzo Landino podcast, saying, “I mean, Lewis Hamilton, when he was dating Nicole Scherzinger, and then models come in and you start seeing and then they’re posting, and then their friends want to come.”

“Well, Lewis kind of started that because suddenly you have models on the grid and everybody wants to talk to models. And typically that was a very dirty area. I mean, it still is dirty, but it was dirtier. And now you’ve got women who are taking photos in front of these cars while they’re work, while they’re changing brakes right before race starts. I was like, that is the Lewis Hamilton effect. And people can fight me and say, oh, he didn’t do that. No, he did do that. You can’t deny that.”

It’s true to a large extent how things have changed around the paddock. The fashion that Lewis has brought to the track has possibly changed the dynamics of the sport as a whole.

Lewis Hamilton always makes the headlines for the glamorous and wackiest-designed clothes he wears on the weekends as a form of self-expression. And it certainly has brought about a visible change everywhere.
For this, he used his social media and has been credited with creating a fashion show, as VF said, “And then I think what Lewis did to enhance social media or to enhance F1, he doesn’t get nearly enough credit for that because right now you talk about the grid walk is now a fashion show.”
