The Forner British F1 driver and presently the commentator for Sky Sports, Martin Brundle, recently spilled some beans about the seven-time-champ, Lewis Hamilton. The Mercedes man, who is known for his warm and welcoming nature, now treats Brundle otherwise, as stated by Martin himself.

Lewis Hamilton is widely known for his pre-race grid walks. Notably, Hamilton used to be chatty on his walks earlier. Although, according to Martin, now the Brit seems a bit cold.

Brundle explained to GQ that most drivers are desperate for interviews prior to the race. Some are even forward with certain special requests. He further added, “A few of them will just shake their head and then even apologize later on. Or some come up to me in the paddock and go, ‘You haven’t seen me on the grid for ages. Just come and talk to me on the grid.’ And then others will never talk. Lewis used to talk to me a lot and then stopped. So we take it as it comes.”

In another interview with Sky Sports, Hamilton once shared his opinion of Brundle.

Brundle is known for his notorious, comedic, quick-witted approach to interviews. He’s previously played various pranks on the drivers, such as stealing Michael Schumacher‘s cap, whilst he was in the middle of another interview on the grid.

And so, amongst all things race, Hamilton also talked about Brundle. He said, “Martin, I think has great history in the sport, his character, his energy. He’s got such a recognisable voice that people respect and admire. I hope that he stays around for a long time because I think he is today’s Murray Walker.”

Martin also claimed that even though he is funny and personal with the drivers, he never puts anyone on the spot to ask them questions that are extremely personal in nature. He keeps his conversations limited to relevant topics in and around the track.
