It is not unknown to many that it’s difficult to team up with the seven-time world champion in Silver Arrows. But there was the Finnish driver Valtteri Bottas, who was one of Lewis’ best teammates. However, the Finn bid adieu to the Brackley base this season.
Subsequently, Mercedes called George Russell to fill in the vacant seat and team up with Hamilton. The two became really close within a few months. This might be because Russell looks up to Hamilton and grew up watching Lewis in Mercedes Academy.

How is the season going for Mercedes?
The 2022 season has been rough for the Silver Arrows so far in this season. The eight-time world champion constructor is struggling since the pre-season. Lewis Hamilton and George Russell reported experiencing significant bouncing with the 2022 challenger W13.
Despite the poor performance of the W13, Mercedes has bagged two third-place finishes in the three races this season. Lewis ended up on the podium in the Bahrain season-opener after both the Red Bull drivers had a DNF elimination. And their latest podium was in Melbourne, with George finishing third.
