First, it was Lewis Hamilton to Ferrari, then it became Hamilton and Charles Leclerc swapping teams, and finally, Hamilton retiring from F1 and Leclerc to Mercedes. The transfer rumors around the Briton amidst the Mercedes slump have been plentiful. However, as the 38-year-old dismisses the rumors and the opportunity doors keep closing, all Lewis Hamilton wishes for is a final roll of the dice in his favor. Let’s find out how is he gearing up for this final crack at Glory.

After the Dominance during the first 8 years Turbo-Hybrid Era, one expected Mercedes to at least be the second-fastest team not far away from Red Bull. However, the reality is far from expectations as not only they’re behind Red Bull but not even the second-quickest team. Although Mercedes has made major changes to resolve the issue, a championship fight this season looks very unlikely for the German team.

Lewis Hamilton has been the worst-hit adversary of the Mercedes slump with the 8th title hopes fading day by day. Rebecca Clancy suggests that Hamilton does not have the option to move ships as no one with a competitive car is ready to make him an offer. Nevertheless, Lewis doesn’t really want to move ships either as he wants to get the team that won him 6 titles back to the top. The Briton just wants one last chance at a title to fulfill his ultimate dream.

According to a Tweet posted by Off the Bell, Rebbeca Clancy said, “He really cares and loves his team and he really does want them to be back at the front. I’ve seen the reports that he’s looking around and he’s gonna jump ships and what might happen.”

Talking about moving to another team and Hamilton wanting one last chance, she said, “But in reality, there’s nowhere else to go. No one else is offering him a competitive car. I do think he will sign for at least one more year. He just wants a final throw of the dice. He just wants one more chance. He’ll be thinking, ‘Okay, if I get through this year and make the car more competitive for next year, then hopefully I can start the season and actually throw down the gauntlet.”

After suggesting that Lewis Hamilton’s only option to win a championship is to stay with Mercedes, Jenson Button reinforced the 38-year-old’s belief by suggesting that Mercedes will rise back to the top. Button explained how a dip in performance is certain after a team stays at the top for as long as Mercedes. However, if Hamilton decides to stay with the Silver Arrows, the team is capable of and will rise once again.

According to Express.co.uk, Jenson Button said, “I think they will come out the other side together. You know, it’s a rollercoaster in Formula One, especially when you’ve been on top for that long, there’s going to be a dip, but if you can stay with that team they will rise to the top again, and he’s not going to retire.”
