The Red Bull driver is dominating this year. He has won 11 out of 17 races, showing the world his sheer skills and talent. As things stand, the star Mercedes driver’s record seems to be in danger.

Seeing the consistency with which Max Verstappen has been driving, coupled with the fact that there are still five races remaining in the season, it would be safe to say that Max will soon get another win in 2022. But what would be so special if Max gets another victory?

The 12th win of the season will put the 25-year-old on the elite list that has names like Sebastian Vettel and Michael Schumacher. These legends of the sport share the record for the most wins in a season with 13 victories each.

Hamilton, on the other hand, has never been able to get past 11 wins in a season. Although, he did come close in 2014, and 2018, 2019, and 2020.

Where Verstappen fell, his teammate and Ferrari shone

The orange army was waiting for another Verstappen dominated GP, but it was Sergio Perez and Ferrari who stole the show. Charles got P2 after his multiple attempts to overtake The Mexican didn’t work.

As things stand, Charles can still technically win the championship. But expecting the Monégasque to win the title at this stage would be a stretch, considering the Dutchman can win his second championship at any race weekend now. Despite that, Leclerc is handling the current situation quite well.

Rather than being angry at his team or himself, Charles believes they can execute the right strategies, which they had been missing this whole season, in the last few races.

He said, “I want to use these last few races for us to get better on the execution of the race, We need to do other steps forward. It’s a good step in the right direction, and on that I’m happy, but of course frustrated with the second place.” Leclerc’s positive approach for the end races might just give Red Bull camp something to worry about.
