Formula 1 has the top 20 drivers in the world going wheel to wheel against one another. It takes years of practice and personal sacrifice to become part of the pinnacle of motorsport. Each driver’s aim is to become the world champion, but it comes at a cost. And something similar happened with Charles Leclerc in 2019.

He ended his 4-year relationship with the model, Giada Gianni. She revealed the reason behind the duo parting way in an Instagram Live. She said “Charles left me. He wants to devote himself only to Ferrari.”

For 2019, Leclerc signed a multi-year deal with Ferrari. The Italian constructor has been in the sport since 1950 and and they offered Leclerc the longest driver contract in its history at that time. This gave him the boost to put his heart and soul into becoming the world champion while wearing the red racing suit.

As per The Sun, The Monegasque set his aim on removing Lewis Hamilton from the F1 throne. The Mercedes driver is the most accomplished driver in the sport’s history. This makes him the perfect benchmark for any driver to compare himself with.

The Ferrari protégé is a great talent of F1 and is hungry for his glory. As a result, his quest to beat Hamilton aligned perfectly with his vision for his future. Although, he came up short in doing so, but grabbed the spotlight by beating his teammate, Sebastian Vettel.

The driver with seven world titles under his belt also paid the cost it takes to be at the top. Lewis Hamilton was in a long-term relationship with the Pussycat Doll’s lead singer, Nicole Scherzinger. The duo, referred to as the ultimate power couple, split up in 2015.

Formula 1 races in a new city every weekend. This put Hamilton in a long-distance relationship with his partner. For him to deliver elite performance week in and week out, he also came at a cost in his personal life.

Briton commented on it by saying, “It’s similar to most sportsmen and women. It may be slightly different in that we are traveling as much as we are, and you are just away for crazy amounts of time.”

He went on to say how it can prove hard to keep a lasting relationship.

“So that’s probably an additional weight that makes it really, really tough to hold down a good relationship, and if things aren’t quite perfect,” he concluded.
