Well done Baku!!! The Azerbaijan Grand Prix qualifying session once again delivered and produced arguably the best fight for pole position this season. The session was filled with excitement and drama. But there were some sketchy moments as well, and one of them included Lewis Hamilton.

The Mercedes driver did not have everything under his control and was in a fight to get out of Q2. As he was preparing his lap, he slowed down unnecessarily on his out lap.

He became a hindrance for all the drivers behind who started to lose the temperature in their tires. This did not sit down well with drivers on the grid and they complained about the same.

 

Because of his antics, the 7-time world champion has earned himself a visit to the stewards after the session. There is a possibility that he might get a grid penalty for slow driving, which might sweep away all his hard work.

Hamilton became a nuisance for drivers like Lando Norris, and Daniel Ricciardo, who were right behind him in the field. While he went through to Q3, the McLaren duo weren’t so lucky.

As reported by Formula1.com, the Mercedes driver finished the session in P7. He was clearly behind his teammate George Russell in qualifying, but he was even out-qualified by AlphaTauri driver Pierre Gasly.

But there is a possibility that he might not even start in the Top-10 because of the impending investigation. So it would be interesting to see how he approached the race on Sunday from there.
